The Los Alamos County Council meets 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31 in Council Chambers inside the Municipal Building at 1000 Central Ave.

Agenda items include:

  • A proclamation declaring 2021-2022 a “Year of Asset Building” in Los Alamos County and Sept. 10, 2021 at “College Day/Military Day”.
  • A discussion about the scope, budget and schedule for the Los Alamos Public Schools and Community Joint-Use New Recreation Facility.
  • An introduction of an ordinance to amend sections of Chapter 16 of the County Development include to adopt local regulations for cannabis cultivation and manufacturing.
  • A public hearing about terminating the economic development project of Pebble Labs, Inc.
  • Consideration of amendment to a land development agreement between the County and Bethel Development to extend the contract completion date of the Bluffs Senior Housing project to Dec. 31, 2022.
  • Possibly approve revising the Los Alamos County Community Services Department’s charges and fees policy.
  • Consideration of a proposal to revise cemetery fees.
  • Possibly approve a policy for use and rental of County facilities/land.
  • Hear a presentation and recommendation on the American Rescue Plan Allocation of Uses Plan.
  • Consideration of possibly scheduling regular town halls.
