The September Los Alamos Mountaineers virtual meeting Tuesday evening, Sept. 28, will feature a talk by Zack Baker entitled “Packrafting the Continental Divide Trail (not really!)”.

Baker will talk about packrafting – small, inflatable kayaks that can be “packed” into a backpack and easily carried to adventures. His talk will discuss how you can get into the sport, the equipment required, and how wet you should expect to be. He will show various dramatic photographs and tell stories of packrafting trips from Banff to local spots in New Mexico.

Mountaineers’ meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of every month. Recent meetings have been held electronically starting at 7 p.m., in collaboration with the Pajarito Environmental Education Center. The club hopes to return to in-person meetings soon, but the September meeting will remain virtual.

Registration details can be found at https://peecnature.org/events/details/?id=37453.
