New Mexico Governor Visits Los Alamos Daily Post

New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, center right, visited with members of the news team today at the Los Alamos Daily Post world headquarters at 1247 Central Ave. The governor spoke about the pandemic, broadband, education, energy issues and her bid for re-election. ‘Los Alamos is one of the best communities in the country for COVID control … Los Alamos made it easy for a governor to follow the mandates,’ Lujan Grisham said. Other comments by the governor include: ‘We’re getting these boosters out. Public and private health care sectors worked together to make this a success. COVID didn’t slow down our economy.’  ‘We want to lead the nation in regional broadband, providing high speed Internet to the whole state.’ ‘Other countries are looking to New Mexico for solutions to energy issues. We want to be the clean energy state.’  ‘New Mexico will be the first state to really have free college. We’re working on ways to get more educators in the classroom.’  In commenting on her campaign for re-election, the governor said, ‘I want New Mexico to be exempt from the toxic political climate in the country. I’m excited to make the case to the voters on what we’ve achieved.’ Photo by Maddy Hayden
