COUNTY News:
The Los Alamos County Department of Public Utilities (DPU) reports that the only property left without electric service after an early morning power outage today is one building at Trinity Village Apartments.
Restoration there is expected to take about two more hours.
DPU electric crews used radar to find an underground fault and are digging it out to make necessary repairs. The cable is about three feet deep near the entrance to Trinity Village, across from the Mary Deal Building on Trinity Drive.
Drivers in the eastbound lane of Trinity Drive should exercise caution when driving toward the entrance to the apartment building. The work is on the shoulder and sidewalk and no traffic controls are in place.
The faulted cable knocked out power for all of Circuit 13 before 6:30 a.m. today. Circuit 13 includes areas along Trinity Drive between Oppenheimer and Sandia, including Western Area, and the Pajarito Ski Hill.
