FOOD DEPOT News:
SANTA FE — The Food Depot in Santa Fe prioritizes the health and safety of staff, volunteers and the communities it serves.
The Food Depot will continue to enforce its vaccine requirements adopted in August 2021. All staff and volunteers are required to be fully vaccinated. Fully vaccinated means both doses of Pfizer, Moderna or the single dose of Johnson and Johnson and a booster shot.
With the percent positive rate of COVID-19 cases in Santa Fe County at 17.7 percent, The Food Depot is updating its policies as of Monday, Jan. 10.
The following policies will be implemented:
- The Food Depot will be closed to the public. Only staff and volunteers will be allowed to enter the warehouse;
- Staff and volunteers will be required to wear either a surgical, KN95 or N95 mask when in common areas or shared workspaces in the building and at any food distribution; and
- The Food Depot will continue to conduct business virtually whenever necessary.
Food distributions in The Food Depot’s nine county service area will continue as scheduled.

As the food bank for nine counties, The Food Depot provides hunger relief to more than 39,761 people experiencing food insecurity. The Food Depot addresses the crisis of hunger through a combination of drive-thru mobile food pantries, three direct service programs, and support of a network of over 81 partner nonprofit programs. During 2021, The Food Depot provided an average of 737,627 meals each month to people in need — the most vulnerable of our community — children, seniors, working families, and those in ill health.
