Tickets go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. Friday, May 20. Presale for Lensic members at the $100 support level and above starts at 6:30 p.m. April 26.

Build-your-own-subscription packages are available through June 3, with discounts offered when patrons buy tickets to multiple events in one ticket order. (Purchases made on multiple dates cannot be combined to receive the subscription discount. Met: Live in HD and National Theatre Live in HD events are not eligible for subscription discounts.)

Lensic Presents Artists: Education Outreach
In addition to their public shows, Lensic Presents artists from nine of the new season’s events will participate in education outreach activities, including special performances and masterclass workshops for local K–12 students. The Lensic’s Performing Arts Education programs—which also include virtual performances, a technical theater internship, and Hocus Focus workshops in special needs classrooms led by magician/educator Kevin Spencer—engage 18,000 students each year.

The scorching ecstasy of Tower of Power’s horn section is the signature of this legendary band, which has continued to punch out the soul, funk, and R&B hits for over 50 years. Sugar Skull! is a joyous, bilingual look at the vibrant heart of Mexican culture. You’ll meet young Vita, who wonders why her family is throwing a party for deceased loved ones. When a candy skeleton in her grandmother’s cemetery suddenly springs to life, she finds herself on a magical, musical journey to unravel the true meaning of Día de los Muertos. From one of the most vital voices in American roots music today, Martha Redbone’s Bone Hill is a dramatic musical look at four generations of women in Redbone’s Appalachian Mountain Cherokee family. The Lensic’s New Year’s Eve tradition continues as Joe Illick, music director and principal conductor of the Fort Worth Opera, leads an all-star orchestra to ring in the new year. This year’s special guest is renowned countertenor Anthony Roth Costanzo, who sang the title role in the Metropolitan Opera’s hit 2019 production of Philip Glass’s Akhnaten. Costanzo is a Grammy nominee, recipient of the 2020 Beverly Sills Award from the Metropolitan Opera, winner of the 2020 Opera News Award, and Musical America’s 2019 Vocalist of the Year. A New Mexico Jazz Festival Event
Alfredo Rodriguez and Pedrito Martinez each started life in Havana then brought their talent and passion for music (Rodriguez on piano and Martinez on percussion) to the States. The musicians meld the music of their homeland with a variety of influences, demonstrating “how flexible those traditions can be when matched with visionary musicians and a seemingly boundless innovative spirit” (NPR). Paul Taylor molded the dance company that bears his name into one of the preeminent performing ensembles in the world, leading it until his death in 2018. Piano Battle
The brainchild of internationally accomplished pianists Andreas Kern and Paul Cibis, Piano Battle sees the duo go head-to-head on stage, charming and enchanting the audience with a variety of classical pieces. The two artists, with distinct performance styles, take turns performing pieces by composers such as Chopin, Liszt, and Debussy. They will even improvise based on the tunes you request. Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain
A humbly compelling and beloved instrument gains expressive, virtuosic freedom with George Hinchliffe’s Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain.
