Pueblo Canyon Trail Conceptual Plan Public Meeting Today And May 10

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County Community Services Department (CSD) is working with Design Office, a professional consulting service to provide a conceptual design and layout for new and renovated trails in Pueblo Canyon.

CSD held several focus group meetings with citizens and user groups in January through March of this year, to provide residents the opportunity to share thoughts and input to help develop and prioritize conceptual designs for projects that will be shared with Los Alamos County Council for funding considerations.

The Community Services Department and Design Office has reached the next phase of the
project and will hold a public meeting 5:30-7:30 p.m. today in Room 330 at the Municipal Building.

The meeting is open to the public and will be held in a hybrid format to allow those who can’t attend in person to attend virtually.

The desire is to gather input and look at concepts for a long blue/green rated mountain bike trail, a Mountain Bike skills park, a trial from San Ildefonso Road to the Aquatic Center, an equestrian trail in Bio Canyon, and a National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA) course.

During the meeting attendees will be provided a poll to further gather input on an individual basis of which of the five concepts they support, this poll will also be available to participants attending via Zoom.

Los Alamos County recognizes the value of the trails for both residents and visitors. Trails provide the ability to engage with nature and are quality of life elements highly desired in our community. The Community Services Department would like to invite interested members of the public to join either meeting that best fits their schedule.
