Looking west, contrails converge in the direction of the Cerro Pelado Fire were observed this morning in White Rock. A little American Robin is sitting on a utility line, singing and sending greetings to his role models … the heroic firefighters.

One of the legendary stories about American Robin goes like this:

During a winter storm, flames in the fireplace that warms a home were diminished. While the entire family was making every effort to light it up but in vain, a little American Robin flew into the home, jumped into the fireplace, and used his wings to fan the flames up. That’s why robins get the iconic orange red color over their belly, it comes from a robin’s heroic act in an SOS situation.

Thank you, firefighters!
