NMDCA News:

New Mexico Historic Sites commemorates the grand opening of “Bosque Redondo: A Place of Suffering … A Place of Survival,” a permanent interpretive exhibition designed in collaboration with tribal partners that grapples with the Bosque Redondo Indian Reservation, the U.S. army’s forced removal of Diné (Navajo) and Ndé (Mescalero Apache) people from their homes, and the brutality and perseverance of their life on the reservation.

There will be a variety of speakers, catered lunch for the first 500 visitors, keynote speakers, cultural dances and a Native American art and rug auction by R.B. Burnham & Company.

This event is free and runs 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, May 28 at Bosque Redondo Memorial at Fort Sumner Historic Site: 3647 Billy the Kid Road in Fort Sumner.
