CONCERT News:
The Fourth of July holiday weekend brings concert performances by Chevel Shepherd and George Michael Reborn to Los Alamos this year.
Friday, July 1, George Michael Reborn performs at Ashley Pond Park for the Los Alamos Summer Concert Series presented by Toyota of Santa Fe, and sponsored by Longenecker & Associates and Pajarito Brewpub and Grill.
This show is a must see! With his live vocals (no lip-syncing here), Robert Bartko exudes the energy and passion of George in the 80’s and 90’s … getting the crowd on the dance floor for Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go and prompting standing ovations for his performance of Careless Whisper.
Bartko is a spot-on George Michael lookalike, with the vocal range, dance moves, crowd interaction, and charisma that will leave you cheering for an encore. Close your eyes and you’ll swear you’re listening to the real deal, not a George Michael impersonator. For more information about George Michael Reborn visit, www.GeorgeMichaelReborn.com.
“Pajarito Brewpub and Grill is proud to co-sponsor the concert with returning sponsor Longenecker & Associates,” said General Manager Patrick Mockler Wood of Pajarito Brewpub and Grill. “With all the high school reunions happening over the Fourth of July weekend, George Michael Reborn is the perfect addition to the summer concert series lineup that brings exceptional concerts to Los Alamos every summer Friday night.”

Monday, July 4th, the 2022 Fourth of July Spectacular presented by Enterprise Bank & Trust at Overlook Park in White Rock, New Mexico, brings an all-New Mexican rising star lineup to celebrate the Fourth of July.
Chevel Shepherd headlines the music festival, which kicks off at 4 p.m. and includes performances by Los Alamos Jazz Project, Northern New Mexico sensation Gabriella Salazar, and Jemez Mountain favorite Austin Van.
In 2018 Chevel Shepherd won the national music talent competition, “The Voice” and in 2019 she brought an astounding 8,000-person audience to Ashley Pond Park for her first performance with the Los Alamos Summer Concert Series produced by Sancre Productions and Los Alamos County Community Services Department.
Raised in La Plata, N.M., a rural community about 30 minutes outside of Farmington, Shepherd can’t remember a time when she wasn’t singing.
“Gosh, I’ve been singin’ since I could talk,” she said. “My sister and my mom sing, and I always wanted to be like them.”
At 4-years-old she entered a local talent competition. One of her early favorites, Before He Cheats, was deemed “inappropriate” for a little girl to perform, so she went with A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes –– but never really left behind the music that made her a star.
“Loretta Lynn, Tanya Tucker, Gretchen Wilson––I grew up being in love with that sound,” she said.
