Chamber To Celebrate Grand Opening Of Mesa Top Games Along With Relocation Of L.A. Bootery

CHAMBER News:

New business Mesa Top Games & Toys is opening Thursday, July 14 with multiple days of fun.

Owner Carolyn Cowan also will be relocating her existing business L.A. Bootery to the new location at 1247B Central Ave.

The community is invited to join in celebrating both businesses with a Ribbon Cutting ceremony 1 p.m. Friday, July 15.

Cowan opened L.A. Bootery in 2021 after the need for a footwear store in Los Alamos was apparent and the supply chain had recovered enough that suppliers were opening new stores again. She focuses on customer service and has a thoughtful selection of brands of high-quality footwear. As L.A. Bootery expands, she aims to continue serving the community by bringing in additional brands and products.

With the expansion of L.A. Bootery, Cowan decided to pursue a life-long goal of opening a game store. After putting out some feelers, comments overwhelmingly supported a game and toy store in Los Alamos. She is working with world-renowned game and toy makers to bring a wide selection of products back to Los Alamos. Her goal with the game store is to host events and create a fun, safe atmosphere for families and individuals to play.

“I’m really excited about both businesses being located together in this great new space and hope all of Los Alamos comes by to check it out!” Cowan said.

Events at the new location this week include:

  • Thursday July 14
    •  11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Meet representatives from footwear manufacturers 5.11 Tactical and Danner.
  • Friday July 15:
    • 1 p.m. – Ribbon cutting ceremony with Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce.
  • Saturday July 16:
    • 1-6 p.m. – Grand Opening celebration with activities, prizes, giveaways and more!

The regular hours for both businesses are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday (evening hours will be expanded along with weekend hours in the future).
