JMEC News:

Jemez Mountains Electric Cooperative (JMEC) is hosting a series of Special District Meetings throughout its large service area. The purpose of these meetings is to gather a quorum to vote on by-law amendments, which have not been updated for decades.

JMEC held its first Special District Meeting July 10 in District 4, at the Mision Convento during the Española Fiestas.

“We had a great turnout and were able to make quorum. We needed 188 members to hold the meeting and we had 211 members register and vote on the by-law amendments, which were passed overwhelmingly,” a JMEC spokesperson said.

At each one of these Special District Meetings, JMEC is giving away a retired JMEC vehicle plus a 75″ LG tv. Each member also received a great swag bag.

Lauren Reichelt of JMEC District 4 was the winner of a 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 4×4. Tim Garcia of JMEC District 4 was the winner of a 75″ LG TV.
