State Bar Of New Mexico: Powers Of Attorney, Advance Health Care Directives & Probate Workshop

ALBUQUERQUE — The State Bar of New Mexico (SBNM) has announced that the Legal Resources for the Elderly Program (LREP) is hosting two free workshops in the month of August.

The first one is 11 a.m. Aug. 16, and the second webinar is 11 a.m. Aug. 23. Both will be available via video and teleconference.

The Aug. 16 presentation will cover the following topics:

Powers of Attorney, Advance Health Care Directives, Probates, Non-Probate Transfers (including Transfer on Death Deeds) and Institutional Medicaid.

The Aug. 23 webinar will cover information regarding Powers of Attorney, including the Financial Power of Attorney and Advance Health Care Directive.

Topics discussed will include things to consider when picking an agent, what powers to grant an agent, how to revoke a Power of Attorney document and the possible consequences of not having one in place in a time of need
