Multi-Faith Collaboration In Remembrance Of 9/11

SPIRITUALITY News:

ALBUQUERQUE — The Albuquerque congregations of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have partnered with the Corrales Seventh-day Adventist Church and the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church to perform service during the month of September in efforts to remember those who sacrificed their lives and well-being Sept. 11, 2001.

The Church of Jesus Christ is doing this in conjunction with 911day.org to help further their goal of “inspiring unity and millions of acts of kindness and service for 9/11 Day.”

Six opportunities to serve have been organized for the community. All people and ages are invited to join any of the below projects, regardless of their religious beliefs.

Projects include:

  • Placing Flags on Graves: Vista Verde Memorial Park at 6:45 a.m. Sept. 9, 4310 Sara Road, Rio Rancho, NM 87124

City Clean-Ups:

  • 6-8 p.m. Sept. 9 Agri-Nature Center in Los Ranchos, 4920 Rio Grande Blvd NW, Los Ranchos, NM 87107
  • 8-10 a.m. Sept. 9 San Carlos Cemetery, 4300 Alameda Path, Albuquerque, NM 87113
  • 6 p.m. Sept 11 Seed2Need Orchard, 176 Manierre Rd., Corrales, NM 87048
  • 8 a.m. Sept. 24 Company’s Coming, 9201 Balloon Museum Dr. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87113
  • Donation Drive: Albuquerque Healthcare for the Homeless, donate anytime, 1217 1st Street NW, Albuquerque, NM 87102
