LAHS News:

The Los Alamos High School (LAHS) girls soccer team scored a goal in each half to beat the visiting Rio Rancho Rams 2-1 Tuesday night at Sullivan Field.

The Rams scored first by finding an opening on a corner kick. Right before halftime, Tara McDonald found a ball at midfield and took it to the goal, netting the score at 1.

The Toppers came out hard in the second half and its pressure paid off as McDonald was able to find an opening and score her second goal of the night. Laila Carter, Marlee Katko, Isabel Atencio and Dayja Fellers held the midfield and generated solid offensive attacks while Kaelin Hanson, Carly Holland, Meredith Brown, MacKenzie Echave, Jenna Montoya and goalkeeper Mika Stanfield thwarted dangerous attacks from the Rams offense.

The Toppers travel tonight to Albuquerque to take on St. Pius and return to Sullivan at 10 a.m. Saturday  to play Sue Cleveland High School.
