The Los Alamos branch of the Debbie Reynolds Insurance Agency and MVD Express opened for business earlier this month in Los Alamos at 1362 D Trinity Dr.
“I’ve been in business in Española for 30 years,” Licensed Owner-Independent Insurance Broker Debbie Reynolds said. “A client called me and told me that an independent agency was closing in Los Alamos. I saw an opportunity. I called the landlord, Shannon Corp., and arranged to lease the space. Everything just fell into place.”
In addition to her insurance credentials, Reynolds holds an MBA.
“We offer a wide range of services and companies,” Reynolds said. “We can write policies with more than 10 companies. We offer auto, home, business, life and health insurance and can do security bonds. Our spectrum is very wide. We offer Medicare enrollment, along with supplemental and advantage plans.”
In addition, the Los Alamos site will offer Motor Vehicle Express site services, including title transfers, renewal and replacement of driver’s licenses, placards for handicapped transportation. The agency can do licenses for boats, motorcycles, RVs, and utility trailers as well. The site can even process vehicle inspections. If a client is confused by dealing with MVD, the agency will help them find out the necessary steps to completing whatever they need.
“I’m old school,” Reynolds said. “The human element is important to me. It’s critical to have someone who understands insurance guide you through the process. The client needs to understand the terminology. Our main concern is for clients to understand what they’re getting when they get a policy. I always tell people what the outcome will be if they reject part of the coverage in the policy.”
Reynolds wants to duplicate the level of trust that has allowed her to serve multiple generations of families in Española.
“We’re here to serve the community,” she said. “We want to reach out to the clients of the former agency in this location and help them transition to whatever is best for them. Of course, we are happy to welcome any clients that would like to use our services.”
Reynolds is assisted at the Los Alamos office by her daughter, Desiree Reynolds-Martinez who serves as a customer service representative.
“We build relationships with our clients,” Reynolds said. “If there are hoops to jump through, we’ll jump through them together.”
The agency can be reached at 505.662.4363 or 505.927.2204 or stop by 1362 D Trinity Dr. to learn more.
