Famed MMA Coach Greg Jackson

APD News:

ALBUQUERQUE – This afternoon, Coach Greg Jackson announced that he is resigning from the City of Albuquerque Civilian Police Oversight Agency due to its current state and lack of teeth.

His resignation is effective immediately.

Coach Jackson released the following statement:

“Today I came to the difficult decision after months of structural issues at the Albuquerque CPOA to resign my post at the agency. I am grateful to Councilor Sanchez, Council President Davis, and the countless residents and police officers who all have tried to make the agency function appropriately to protect the rights of New Mexicans and police officers.

“At this time, I respectfully resign my position and look forward to the City Council and the Department of Justice to review this Agency’s process. I know the two entities will find a solution that best serves the residents of Albuquerque, and our women and men in blue. I look forward to continuing to serve the residents of Albuquerque in future roles as we all work to make Albuquerque the best city in this country again. The future is bright, Albuquerque!”
