STATE News:

SANTA FE — Meals on Wheels of Albuquerque, with the support of Sweep Construction, Bohannan Huston and Rick Thompson, served healthy lunches to legislators last week at the Roundhouse in Santa Fe.

Meals on Wheels is raising money to expand its healthy food delivery program to communities throughout New Mexico.

“The meals that we served the legislators are the exact meals we are serving to New Mexicans this week,” said Meals on Wheels Chief Executive Officer Shauna Frost. “We have set a goal of delivering one million meals in the next five years. It’s a stretch goal for us, and with the help of the legislature we will get there. We wanted them to have a first-hand experience of what we do every day.”

Clients range in age from infants to people 100+. Meals on Wheels offers eight different medically tailored diets with fresh and locally sourced food.
