The Unitarian Church of Los Alamos’s next Second Sunday Forum is Sunday, Feb. 12.

The topic will be:

• Dobbs, and Abortion Today: A Ruling Without Empathy

The speaker will be Rev. Dr. Leona Stucky-Abbott, and the forum is 11:45 a.m. in the church Sanctuary. 

Rev. Stucky-Abbott will discuss key considerations that were both left out of the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision, and mostly missing from public discussions of the abortion issue. From a perspective of women’s health and from research about the religious objections to abortion that have entered the Dobbs decision, she has found much that counters the common narrative.

A Santa Fean, Dr. Stucky-Abbott is the author of The Fog of Faith: Surviving My Impotent God. She is a Unitarian Universalist community minister and a psychotherapist, as well as a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
