LAPD News:
The Los Alamos Police Department held its annual awards banquet Feb. 18 to honor and recognize employees for dedication and outstanding service to the community.
Police Officers, Dispatchers, Detention Staff, Animal Control Officers, Emergency Management, and Support Staff were honored based on their performance in 2022.
More than 50 awards were presented to recognize outstanding officers and staff including:
- Letters of Appreciation;
- Pistol Experts;
- Community Service;
- Commendable Service;
- Educational Achievements;
- Civilian Service;
- Police Chief Commendations;
- Life Saving Awards; and
- “Of The Year” Awards.
Recipients recognized with “Of The Year” Awards include:
- Cody Ulrich was named Civilian of the Year;
- Miki Moreno was named Animal Control Officer of the Year;
- Joseph Dezendorf was named Officer of the Year; and
- Det. Sgt. Ryan Wolking and Sgt. Chris Ross were each named Supervisor of the Year.
“Having the opportunity to recognize the outstanding work of the PD employees is one of the best duties I have as Chief. I am honored to be able to work alongside them and I value their commitment to community safety,” Chief of Police Dino Sgambellone said.
