VADITO — Sipapu Ski & Summer Resort announced Friday it is extending its season to April 16.

With 184″ this season, and a 46″ base, the resort has ample snow to make it into mid-April. Originally slated to close April 9, Sipapu has added what it has dubbed a wildcard weekend into the schedule, with tickets starting at just $9 at www.sipapu.ski.

“Such great conditions and cold weather have made spring skiing the best it’s been in years,” General Manager John Paul Bradley said. “Let’s get every turn we can get!”

Sipapu will be open Friday-Sunday until April 14, when it will be open only Saturday-Sunday April 15-16. April 16 is scheduled to be the final day, continuing the longtime tradition of Sipapu being the first resort in New Mexico to open, and the last to close.
