Mountain Club Swimming News:
The 2023 USMS Spring National Championship was held April 27-30 at the Woollett Aquatic Center in Irvine, Calif.
There were nearly 2,500 swimmers who participated in this annual event. Participants had to be registered Masters swimmers and at least 18 years of age.
Age groups for individual events were 18–24, 25–29, 30–34, 35–39. (five-year increments as high as necessary). The oldest swimmer in this meet was 101 years old.
During the meet, 57 of the USMS individual and relay records were broken for various age groups.
Two swimmers and two officials from Los Alamos joined this national meet for the first time:

Alisa Hehir won three medals for her three events in her age group:
- 10th place for 1000 yard freestyle with 13:28.22
- 9th place 200 yard backstroke with 2:30.23
- 10th place for 50 yard backstroke with 31.14
Angela Herring finished her personal best times for her two events in her age group:
- 36th place for 50 yard freestyle with 46.90
- 21st place for 50 yard breaststroke with 59.44
Wiiliam Dai and Anna Zhang worked four days as officials for this meet.
