PEEC is hosting a one-day geology trip exploring the breathtaking landscapes of Guadalupe Box and Puerco Necks, led by local geologists Fraser and Cathy Goff Saturday, June 3. This exclusive opportunity offers participants a chance to discover the geological wonders of these scenic locations, unveiling the mysteries hidden within their rock formations.

Participants will meet at the nature center at 7:30 a.m. and carpooling will be arranged to ensure convenient transportation. Throughout the trip, there will be some hiking up slopes but the hikes will not be overly strenuous.

Participants are advised to dress appropriately for the weather by wearing layered clothing and comfortable shoes or boots. It is recommended to bring a small backpack, hat, sunscreen, gloves, a sack lunch, snacks and a water bottle. Additionally, attendees may choose to carry optional items such as a camera, walking stick, rock hammer and hand lens, which can enhance their experience.

Admission to this remarkable geologic adventure is priced at $80 for PEEC members and $100 for non-members.
