LAMC News:
Los Alamos Medical Center (LAMC) and Los Alamos High School again offered the Multiple Avenues for Successful Healthcare (MASH) program to interested and eligible sophomores, juniors and seniors.
The goal of this program is to expose local students to the multiple career opportunities available in their home-town hospital.
The one-week job-shadowing experience occurred June 5-9, 2023, on the LAMC campus at 3917 West Road.
Students who apply and are selected for the program devoted time 7:45 a.m. to noon each day at LAMC. The early hours are designed to allow students to really observe the medical activities in many areas. Students were required to shadow multiple departments of the hospital.
The shadowing is designed to involve interactive activities and presentations by Healthcare staff that will provide students with a true exposure to Healthcare careers, to help them assess if this is a good career path for them.
A graduation was held for the students on June 8 with families of the graduates invited.
