Enterprise Bank & Trust employee Donald T. Archuleta Jr, like the bank itself, has experienced evolutions in his career at the local bank.
Archuleta started at the bank in 2003 when it was Los Alamos National Bank (LANB). He originally worked in the ITEM Processing Department before moving to and overlooking the mail operations department. After 11 years working in the mail department, Archuleta moved to records management for four years. It was at that time that LANB merged with Enterprise Bank.
The merger made Archuleta unsure where he would end up but “luckily, due to my years of experience doing Item Processing and other various operation functions, I was able to secure a spot in the bookkeeping department,” he said.
His current role is Deposit Operations Processor II. In this position, Archuleta said he handles various operation responsibilities including distributing the mail, helping with any kind of shipping needs, and doing payment processing for local lockbox customers.
“I deal with a lot of incoming and outgoing deposit files as well,” he added.
While the bank has new ownership and a new name, some things have not changed, Archuleta said.
“With LANB, it was a community, family-oriented bank,” he said. “When Enterprise Bank & Trust came into the picture it had the same family and community feel. I like that they are really big on community.”
Throughout all his time at the bank, one of the biggest events was the pandemic and adjusting to the organization becoming remote work oriented, Archuleta said. Another change was seeing the banking industry turn to electronic banking as it was becoming more and more prevalent.
Despite all the changes he has experienced, Archuleta said he has always enjoyed his work.
“I don’t have customer/client interaction, but my fellow employees are my customers,” he said. “I like teamwork and sharing knowledge with new trainees.”
“I like the career path that Enterprise offers and the opportunities it provides,” Archuleta added.
Enterprise Bank & Trust Market President and Director of Community Engagement Liddie Martinez said Archuleta is an asset to the bank.
“Donald is one of those quiet, steady associates that shows up every day, is an expert at his work and willingly shares his knowledge,” she said. “He helps others when they are in need, every time, without fail and gladly accepts extra duties or volunteers when asked. Donald is a stellar employee that shines bright in the back office – and is noticed and appreciated more than he knows.”
Archuleta, who resides in the community of Rio Chama, said working at the bank seemed attractive when he became a father, and he was searching for a secure job.
“I was looking for a stable job to help support my daughter, Denise,” he said. “I am very family oriented.”
When not in the office, Archuleta said he enjoys being outdoors and tinkering with different things.
“I like fixing things, getting my hands dirty in the garage,” he said. “I like doing mechanical work.”
Additionally, Archuleta puts his financial expertise to use as the treasurer for his family’s church organization, the Medanales San Antonio Chapel.
