Local business owners, community members, county officials and bank officers gathered for the “Business After Hours” event at Century Bank, hosted June 29 by the Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce.

Century Bank’s VP Branch Manager Karen Easton opened the event with introductions and welcoming remarks. She announced the recent introduction of a Liberty Money Market product, offered to both consumer and commercial clients. It is a hybrid between a checking and savings account with tiered interest, earning a higher interest rate for cash deposits without the term and penalty restrictions of a Certificate of Deposit.

“As a long time, community banker, it feels good to finally be able to provide a good return to our clients on their deposited funds,” Easton said.

“Century Bank is elated that we made the decision in 2019 to become a part of the Los Alamos community,” Kain said. “Because of the dedication of our highly professional local team and community support, the Los Alamos Office has experienced tremendous growth, growing its deposit base to over $60 million over the past 3 years. Our local deposits support lending that enables economic development in Los Alamos. Development support includes construction housing, local restaurants, and many non-profits. Century Bank is proud to be one of the largest locally owned banks in Northern New Mexico and is the only locally owned Bank serving the Los Alamos market. We are honored to contribute to the economic development and infrastructure of this beautiful town.”

Century Bank officials traveling to Los Alamos for the “Business After Hours” event included President and CEO Max Myers and his wife Linda Myers, Executive Vice President / Chief Financial Officer Andrew Tetlow, Executive Vice President / Santa Fe Market President John Valentine, Executive Vice President / Director of Wealth Banking & Trust Services Rick Vaughn and Assistant Vice President / Marketing Officer Anna L. Maggiore.

Century Bank will move its Los Alamos operations from 751 Trinity Drive, Suite 301 as soon as construction is completed on its new building at 2201 Trinity Drive across the street from Ashley Pond Park.
