COUNTY News:

The Los Alamos Public Library will host a special outdoor Chautauqua portrayal of Aldo Leopold. The performance “Aldo Leopold’s journey: a living history” will be performed 7-8 p.m., Saturday Aug. 12 on the stage at Ashley Pond Park.

Leopold, the father of wildlife ecology and our national wilderness system, was a forester, philosopher, educator and writer. His book, The Sand County Almanac, is one of the most widely read on conservation, and his words—written 100 years ago—are even more relevant today than when he wrote them.

Landscape architect Steve Morgan will portray Aldo Leopold in this hour-long Chautauqua performance. After the performance, Morgan will engage the audience in a Q&A session, first in character as Leopold and then as an actor and Leopold expert.

This program is free to the public and made possible by the generous support of the New Mexico Humanities Council and Friends of Los Alamos County Libraries.

For more information, visit LosAlamosLibrary.org or call 505.662.8250.

Registration is not required but is available for those who would like an email reminder of the program.
