For the past few weeks, the children of Saint Job of Pochaiv Orthodox Christian Church have been putting their faith into practice. During Sunday School, moved to Wednesday evenings for the convenience of all involved, the children crocheted and assembled blankets for the residents of Sombrillo Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. They worked in memory of Thomas Porter, one of our beloved members who lived at Sombrillo before his repose in the Lord.

Our love for God is expressed in our love for each other. This was enacted by the children when on Wednesday Aug. 30, with the help of Josh Bloom, the activities coordinator, Kathleen MacDonald and me, they delivered their offerings to the residents. The joy, both of giving and receiving, was plain to see.

May God bless the residents and workers of Sombrillo, and bless and keep our children, always.
