Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham
From the Office of the Governor:
TAIPEI, Taiwan — New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham Tuesday delivered remarks to the business community of Taiwan.
The governor made the remarks during U.S. Business Day, an annual gathering of U.S. and Taiwanese officials, to recognize the strong economic partnership between New Mexico and Taiwan that continues to yield positive results for both parties.
“Taiwan businesses already have a footprint in New Mexico, and I am looking forward to adding more to that list in the days, months, and years to come,” Gov. Lujan Grisham said.
During her remarks, the governor highlighted the state’s workforce, quality of life measures like universal early childhood education and free college and New Mexico’s unique opportunities at the southern border with Mexico. The Borderplex is already home to two Taiwanese companies: Cymmetrik and Admiral Cable.
“The opportunities in New Mexico are limitless in any number of sectors: manufacturing, clean energy, intelligent manufacturing, aerospace, and more,” the governor said. “Strengthening our relationships here is good for New Mexico, good for America, and good for Taiwan as we develop a global economy with a more stable and resilient supply chain.”
The governor also previewed an announcement to be made alongside auto parts manufacturer HOTA on Wednesday.
