SANTA FE – Vanessie Santa Fe, 427 West Water St., will present an evening of Flamenco with a performance by ReVóZo, accompanied by professional and student dancers from Flamenco Youth de Santa Fe of EmiArteFlamenco Academy at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13.
ReVóZo draws upon Flamenco puro and Rumba Flamenca traditions while combining both with elements of dance music, including Cuban Son, Reggae, Cumbia, Ranchera and Funk. The result is a danceable music offering that is modern yet stays true to its cultural roots.
EmiArteFlamenco Academy also remains true to their local, Latin roots. EmiArteFlamenco Academy was founded in 2017 by New Mexico native, Emmy “La Emi” Grimm. The EmiArteFlamenco Academy’s mission is to promote the history and culture of traditional Flamenco through cutting-edge performances and classes, captivating people of all ages. The performances and classes also serve to empower children and bring the community together in their love for Flamenco while promoting and supporting the arts in Santa Fe.
Renowned vocalist Vicente Griego of ReVóZo has performed on stages throughout the world, collaborating with some of the most respected Flamenco artists of our time. ReVóZo, under the direction of Cesar Bauvallet, internationally acclaimed composer and founder of Cuban Salsa group, Son Como Son, presents an astonishing lineup of musicians to form Revozo. Each with a lifetime of experience and critical acclaim spanning a myriad of different genres.
