PEECnic – the annual membership meeting of the Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) will be 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21 at the Los Alamos Nature Center.
Everyone is invited to join PEEC staff, volunteers and fellow members at this public event. There will be snacks, desserts, games, friends and PEEC educators sharing their wisdom.
Bring family, bring friends! This is a great time to introduce new people to our outstanding nature center. New members will receive a welcome packet and a PEEC member glass water bottle, while supplies last. Benefits of PEEC membership include discounts in the gift shop, discounts on most program fees and access to members-only rental equipment. Annual memberships fees start at $35 for an individual and are only $50 for a family and help PEEC fulfill our mission,
Vote on new PEEC Board of Directors. This event is an opportunity for members to meet and vote for PEEC Board members and upcoming title changes.
This year’s PEECnic will be led by PEEC’s new Visitors Services Manager, Ryan Ramaker.
Ramaker has so many fun activities planned for all ages. Critter experts will be on hand to show PEEC’s education animals and answer any questions about them. Attendees can play yard games, create art on our sidewalk, listen to a story and check out the planetarium.
PEEC was founded in 2000 with the mission: To enrich people’s lives by strengthening their connections to our canyons, mesas, mountains, and skies. PEEC operates the Los Alamos Nature Center, which is located at 2600 Canyon Road. It has amazing overlooks of Acid Canyon, interactive exhibits and classes, group events, and rentals.
