NNMC Associate Professor David Lindblom
Television Academy Foundation News:
Northern New Mexico College (NNMC) Associate Professor David Lindblom has been selected for an Alex Trebek Legacy Fellowship by the Television Academy Foundation in Hollywood.
Lindblom is an associate professor in the film and digital media arts and arts and human sciences departments at NNMC. He is one of just 12 professors selected from colleges and universities nationwide for the fellowship program.
Named in honor of the late Alex Trebek, longtime host of the quiz show Jeopardy!, the Alex Trebek Legacy Fellowships offer financial support to attendees of the Foundation’s annual Media Educators Conference.
The three-day conference, held this year at the Academy’s North Hollywood Campus in California Oct. 25-27, connects college classrooms with the television industry by providing media professors with curriculum-enhancing seminars on the latest in the art, science and business of television with prominent leaders in show business.
Financial support for fellows includes registration fees, travel and/or hotel accommodations for the conference. Preference is given to attendees from minority-serving institutions. The Alex Trebek Legacy Fellowships are made possible by a generous gift from the Harry & Judy Friedman Family Foundation.
Lindblom is a professional filmmaker who grew up in Los Alamos. He teaches hands-on filmmaking, screenwriting and multi-cam television production. He received his MFA in creative writing-screenplays from the Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA) in 2016 and was a two-time resident at the Santa Fe Art Institute. He’s worked in film and video in New York City—for ABC and NBC studios and Martin Scorsese, for whom he edited the documentary A Personal Journey with Martin Scorsese Through American Movies.
