David L. Norvell – Dec. 21, 2023

ALBUQUERQUE — David L. Norvell died Dec. 21, 2023, at age 88, after a lengthy illness. He passed away at his home in Albuquerque, embraced by his family and loved ones.

Norvell served as the Attorney General of New Mexico from 1971-1974. Prior to that, he served as Speaker of the New Mexico House of Representatives, the youngest person ever to hold that position.

Norvell and New Mexico’s current House Majority Leader Gail Chasey have been married for 20 years. 

Services will be announced after Christmas. Members of the Chasey and Norvell family are grateful for the public’s support and understanding during this difficult time.
