Los Alamos Atomic Tumblers traveled to G Force gymnastics on Albuquerque’s west side this past weekend to compete in the Gravitational Invitational. The theme of the meet was “Even Gravity can’t keep me down”.
This was certainly true of some of the Los Alamos School of Gymnastics (LASG) gymnasts. Lucy Meierbachtol (36.225) and Ava Zadina (35.675] both won their age divisions in the Bronze competition. Both girls also took gold medals in two events each. Meierbachtol won bars with a 9.65 and floor with a 9.00. Zadina won her age division on bars with a 9.55 and floor with an 8.75. Emery Apperson took second with a 35.375 in her age division.
Taking silver medals on events for second in their respective Bronze Age divisions:
- Meierbachtol on beam with 8.775
- Sierra Collord on bars with a 9.40.
- Harmony Cutter on beam with an 8.775.
- Apperson on bars (9.275), beam (8.65), and floor (8.65j.
Taking bronze medals on events for third in their respective age divisions:
- Meierbachtol on vault with 8.80.
- Collord on beam with 9.10.
- Cutter on floor with 8.05.
- Maddie Vallejo on bars (9.10) and beam (8.25).
In the Silver Division competition:
- Christina Samantzidou won a bronze medal on floor with an 8.625.
- Amelie Vallejo won a bronze on vault with 8.95.
In the gold competition:
- Katelyn Martinez won a gold medal on vault with 8.65, and a bronze medal on floor with 8.80.
- Teagan Brown won a bronze medal on beam with 8.20.
