COUNTY News:
The Los Alamos Police Department (LAPD) would like to advise the public that icy and snow-packed winter driving conditions are present in Los Alamos County.
At this time, the Main Hill Road (N.M. 502) is now open, but drivers are asked to be cautious. West Road at Diamond Drive is temporarily closed due to an accident.
Parents picking up their children from the ski hill are being held in line at the bottom of camp May and West Road, while plows are making Camp May Road more passable.
LAPD asks that parents stage in that area if they wish to do so. Vehicles are not being allowed up Camp May Road until it is clear and passable. Fire crews and police officers are in the area and holding the ski hill personnel until it is safe to come down the hill.
LAPD will keep the public updated and appreciates everyone’s patience.
Los Alamos County crews are out working on the roads. Please use extreme caution and avoid travel if at all possible.
