Four Los Alamos High School (LAHS) Lady Topper Wrestlers have advanced to the NMAA Wrestling State Competition Friday and Saturday, Feb 23-24 in the Rio Rancho Events Center.
“The team battled through a difficult Regional event and we are very proud of all LAHS wrestlers,” LAHS Girls Wrestling Head Coach Emily Tew said. “The sport of wrestling is not for the faint of heart and we are continually inspired by the work that these ladies put in each day. It has been a good season and we look forward to the state competition.”
Individual results from Regional competition:
- Jade Blackhart – 1st place in the 145 weight class
- Wendy Sheppard – 2nd place in the 138 weight class
- Gala Nelson – 6th place in the 107 weight class
- Natalie Crawford – NMAA Wild Card pick advances to State competition in the 165 weight class.
