The Los Alamos High School Hilltoppers battled against the Pojoaque Elks in a conference game played Friday night in Griffith Gymnasium.
The Toppers and Elks were evenly matched with the lead changing hands several times.
The Toppers led by one point at the end of the first and second periods taking a one point, 25-24 lead into the locker room at halftime. A
t the end of the 3rd period the Toppers trailed by one, 39-40, and at the end of regular play in the 4th, the score was tied 49-49, which meant overtime play.
The Elks pulled ahead in the closing minutes of the game winning 59-55.
