LAPS News:

Los Alamos Public Schools has announced that for the third consecutive year, there were no findings in the audit.

Cordova CPAs LLC presented their findings to the School Board during the Feb. 13 meeting, noting that the audit was conducted in accordance with Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) and Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS). There were no findings on financial reporting, compliance and other matters. Likewise, there were no findings in the report on compliance for each major program and on internal control over compliance required by the uniform guidance.

“The entire finance team was fantastic to work with and we appreciate their hard work during the last five months,” Robert Cordova said.

The School Board recognized members of the LAPS Business Department on this achievement during the board meeting.

“LAPS remains fiscally responsible and strives to enhance the efficiency of processes and strengthen internal controls in place. ” –LAPS
