Loma Linda Road Improvements Project Restarts April 8

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County Public Works Division is under contract with Albuquerque Asphalt, Inc. to resume work on the Loma Linda Roadway Improvements project on La Mirada Circle, La Tierra Road and Loma Linda Drive in the Loma Linda neighborhood.

The contractor will return from the winter suspension to complete the project, which is scheduled for June 2024.

Work will include removal of existing roadway material and the replacement of a new asphalt surface. This work will start Monday April 8, on Loma Linda Drive then proceed to La Tierra Road and La Mirada Circle.

Additional concrete work will take place along Loma Linda Drive.

The project scope was presented at the public meeting conducted during the regularly scheduled Transportation Board meeting in May 2023.

Hours of Construction:

  • Albuquerque Asphalt, Inc. will work 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Traffic Impact:

  • To minimize disruption, Albuquerque Asphalt, Inc. crews will notify and coordinate with affected residents on certain construction logistics, such as parking restrictions. They will also ensure ingress and egress to residents’ homes as much as possible and coordinate paving operations through the neighborhood. In addition, services such as mail delivery, trash and recycling collection, school bus, and emergency services will always be maintained.
  • Residents can expect large equipment, and construction noise. Motorists and pedestrians are advised to use caution around construction activities and avoid entering the work zone without having acknowledgement from construction works.
