COUNTY News:
The Los Alamos County Council is seeking to fill two vacancies on the local Board of Registration.
The Board serves as the Canvassing Committee following Los Alamos County elections. It consists of five members, with no more than two members appointed from any political party. All Democrat positions have been filled.
Interested applicants must be:
- A registered voter in Los Alamos County;
- Over the age of 18 and a resident of Los Alamos County; and
- Shall not be a County employee (including poll workers), or an elected official or candidate for public office (including School Board or UNM-LA Advisory Board).
Consideration and appointment for the two vacancies will be on the Council’s May 28 meeting agenda (6 p.m.). Candidates who submit a letter do not need to be present.
A call for letters of interest is now open. To apply, individuals should submit a letter with their name, address and a short paragraph indicating why they would be interested in serving on the Board. Letters should be emailed to LACManager@lacnm.us no later than 5 p.m., Wednesday, May 22.
