The 2024 Los Alamos Summer Concert Series has announced its opening night artists, The Powell Brothers, a nationally touring Country/Americana band from Texas, sponsored by local tech companies and long-time series supporters Longenecker & Associates and TechSource.

The Powell Brothers combine elements of folk-rock, rootsy soul, and country that make this band a special treat for concert attendees who enjoy many genres. Perseverance, resilience, and life on the road provide the backdrop for their new collection of songs that staggers artfully between timeless arrangements and sharp songcraft showcasing a defiant, evolving band on the rise. The Los Alamos High School Jazz Ensemble will be opening the night starting at 6 p.m.!

Format Changes and Concert Information

The 2024 Los Alamos Summer Concert Series begins May 24 and runs through Aug. 30, 2024! Every Friday night local and regional musical acts in a variety of genres will take the stage at Ashley Pond Park, while attendees mingle, dance, sing along and enjoy the beautiful atmosphere of the park and downtown Los Alamos.

There are some changes to the 2024 Los Alamos Summer Concert Series, that Sancre Productions and the Los Alamos Community Services Department would like to make the community and concert-goers aware of:

• The series is scheduled to run 6-9 p.m. every Friday night, May 24 to Aug. 30.
  • 6 p.m. – Announcements and National Anthem
  • 6:15 p.m. – Various opening entertainment acts, which will include DJ Optimistic on occasion.
  • 7 p.m. – The headliner is scheduled to take the stage so that families with young children can enjoy more of the evening.
• The upper parking lot, facing the Ashley Pond stage, will be completely closed and will be utilized for vendors only. This is due to multiple safety concerns that arose last year with other parked vehicles attempting to leave and pedestrians within the area.
• The Beer Garden will be located closer to the vendor parking lot. 
• Handicapped-only parking will be available at the lower level of the Justice Center Parking Lot, off Trinity Drivr. Be sure to bring your handicapped parking placard to gain access. 

The Los Alamos County Community Services Department and Sancre Productions take the safety of the event attendees seriously and want to provide an enjoyable experience for all.
