NMSP News:
May 22, 2024, the New Mexico State Police (NMSP) Crime Suppression Bureau (CSB), Special Operations Unit, Investigations Bureau, and the Second Judicial District Attorney’s Office Crime Strategies Unit collaborated in a targeted operation.
The operation focused on auto theft, narcotics, gun-related offenses and fugitive apprehension in Bernalillo County.
The one-day operation led to the successful apprehension of 11 felony and misdemeanor-level offenders.
Notable arrests:
- Christina Trujillo, 28, was arrested after being observed selling narcotics. She was found in possession of 1.2 grams of fentanyl and charged with trafficking a controlled substance.
- Amanda Gomez, 34, was arrested for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.
- Joshua Cardenas, 37, was arrested for a felony warrant related to previous charges of possession of a controlled substance.
- Bryce Prodger, 32, was arrested for receiving/transferring a stolen vehicle.
- Devan Harris, 34, was arrested after being observed selling narcotics. Harris had two young children with him while he was conducting the narcotics transactions. Harris was charged with trafficking a controlled substance (9 grams of fentanyl) and two counts of child abuse.
- Anthony Ybarra, 31, was found in possession of a stolen vehicle. Ybarra fled on foot, brandishing a handgun, which he discarded before being taken into custody. A search warrant was executed on the vehicle and an additional rifle was discovered. Ybarra also had narcotics in his possession. He was charged with receiving/transferring a stolen vehicle, felon in possession of a firearm or destructive device, resisting/evading a peace officer, and trafficking a controlled substance.
This operation underscores the unwavering commitment of the New Mexico State Police and the 2nd Judicial District Attorney’s Office to ensure the safety and security of our community. The successful apprehension of these offenders highlights the effectiveness of collaborative law enforcement efforts and the dedication of our officers and prosecutors.
