Wildflower Watercolor Workshop At Nature Center June 7

The Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) encourages artists of all skill levels to discover the beauty of wildflowers at the Los Alamos Nature Center’s Wildflower Watercolor Workshop June 7, 2024.

The workshop will be held 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Los Alamos Nature Center, 2600 Canyon Road. The cost is $15 per member or $20 per non-member.

Participants will have the unique opportunity to delve into the botanical wonders of the gardens with a guided tour highlighting the exquisite penstemons and other native blooms.

Explore the natural splendor of wildflowers in an immersive and hands-on watercolor workshop hosted at the Los Alamos Nature Center. The workshop invites you to let your creativity bloom as you capture the intricate beauty of the flowers through watercolor painting and pencil sketching. Learn about flower anatomy and enhance your artistic skills while immersed in the serene outdoors. The event is designed to accommodate all skill levels, from beginners to seasoned artists. All necessary materials will be provided.

About the Presenter

Ken Nebel, a working artist and art material expert, will lead the workshop. Nebel owns Village Arts, a small frame shop and art supply store in Los Alamos—located in New Mexico’s high desert—a region that has fueled the creativity of countless artists. Constantly inspired by the characters and animals that surround him, Nebel shares his passion through the Los Alamos Life Drawing Group. He holds a BFA with an emphasis in Illustration and Art History and has a wealth of experience in teaching arts, directing a regional arts organization, and curating more 70 juried group and solo exhibitions over the past 12 years.
