The recipients of the 2024 Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce Business Awards accept their trophies before the Summer Concert kicked off Friday evening at Ashley Pond Park. Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce Director Ryn Herrmann, front row, center, announced the winners, Best New Business of the Year: Sugar & Cream Café; Family-Friendly Business of the Year: The Family YMCA; Financial Institution Business of the Year: Zia Credit Union; Non-Profit of the Year: Los Alamos Historical Society; Restaurant of the Year: Blue Window Bistro; Retail Business of the Year: Los Alamos Cooperative Market; Service Business of the Year: UPEX & Gifts LLC; and Woman Owned Business of the Year: Samizdat Bookstore & Teahouse. Two additional awards also were presented, New Mexico Consortium earned the Chamber Community Partner Award and United Church Thrift Shop earned the Sustainable Los Alamos Award.
