COUNTY News:

A planned water outage is scheduled for Saturday in the section of the Quemazon subdivision recently impacted by water breaks. The outage will allow Gas, Water and Sewer crews from the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities (DPU) to upgrade underground valve hardware.

Water will be turned off 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday for residents on Sereno between Corona and Quemazon, Carriage House Drive, Eaton Place, Rosebud and Quemazon between Sereno and Corona.

A recent series of water breaks in the area resulted from corrosion on the underground piping system. DPU staff developed a plan to proactively replace valve hardware in the subdivision with stainless steel components to prevent future water breaks.
