Co-presented with New Mexico Arts and The Albuquerque Astronomical Society (TAAS), Bryan Crawford, TAAS member, will give a 45-minute presentation, “Fabulous 50 Summer Stars and Constellations,” followed by a laser constellation tour 8–11 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2024, Jemez Historic Site. Participants will be able to look through TAAS telescopes.
Joining the program will be special guest Lauren Camp, New Mexico Poet Laureate, who will lead visitors along the trail for a poetry recital and invite them to recite poems related to the stars. Make it a weekend trip and come back the following morning for the Looking to the Skies program at 10 a.m., Sunday. Admission is $10 for adults and free for children 16 years and younger. This program offers people the opportunity to learn about the notable summer stars, planets, constellations, and other dark sky objects such as nebula and galaxies explorable from the night sky at Jemez Historic Site.
