DP Road Phase II Reconstruction Project Update

TLC Plumbing & Utility works 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. TLC Plumbing and Utility will be off Thursday, July 4, and Friday, July 5, in observance of Independence Day.
Parking:
Parking will not be allowed south of DP Road outside of designated areas south of Ace Hardware and south of the Los Alamos Fire Training Academy.
Traffic Control:
Crews will continue two trenching operations on DP Road to install electrical conduits and water and gas.
Follow all work zone signs and exercise caution; flaggers may direct traffic during certain construction events.
Access to businesses will be maintained; westbound traffic direction remains unchanged.

Rose Street Reconstruction Project

TLC Plumbing & Utility works Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Rose Street from Central Ave. to Peach Street, including sections of Peach Street and Spruce Street. TLC Plumbing and Utility will be off Thursday, July 4, and Friday, July 5, in observance of Independence Day.
Work Details:
Crews will continue to install concrete sidewalks and drive pads on the north side of Rose Street from Circle Drive to 22nd St.

Urban Trail Phase I and II Project

Crews will work from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Friday, with possible weekend work if needed. Hasse Contracting Co. will be off July 4, and July 5 in observance of Independence Day.
Construction of the Trail will continue along the north side of Canyon Road between the Tennis Courts and Los Alamos Nature Center driveway
The north shoulder on Canyon in this area is closed, with two lanes of traffic generally maintained.
Flaggers will be used when lane closures are needed for construction vehicle access to the work areas.
Work to construct the boardwalk section of the trail will also continue in the wooded are by the Tennis Courts.

Overlook Park Irrigation Work Continues
The trail section at Overlook Park between Spirio Soccer Field and Softball Field 3 will be closed to all traffic, including pedestrians. This closure is necessary for work on interconnecting the irrigation system with the potable water system as a backup to the reclaimed water that is typically used to water the fields. This work is expected to last into October.

July 4th Spectacular Event Traffic Control
Thursday, July 4, the following traffic control and closures will be in place for the annual 4th of July event at Overlook Complex in White Rock:
- NO street parking from Chamisa School to Bryce Ave. on Meadow Lane
- Overlook Complex closed to vehicle traffic EXCEPT for handicapped, staff, and Atomic City Transit event shuttle service for the event
- Motorists are asked to use extreme caution in the White Rock area and in Los Alamos at the Sullivan Field parking lot area due to the large presence of pedestrian traffic throughout the day and into the night. SLOW DOWN and watch for children and pets.
Planning on attending? Utilize the event shuttle service – Atomic City Transit will provide continuous bus service to Overlook Park from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Buses depart in Los Alamos from Diamond and Canyon, and in White Rock from the White Rock Visitor Center and Pinon Elementary School parking lot. Non-County Projects:
The following construction project is not funded by Los Alamos County. Updates are included to keep residents informed of potential traffic impacts. Questions should be directed to the parties identified below. Please obey all traffic devices and slowdown in work zones.
Lane Closure – Trinity Drive at 35th Street (Hill Apartments)
Pavilion Construction is working 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, (and weekends as needed) to reconstruct the south side of Trinity Drive near the new 35th Street intersection as part of the 35th realignment project associated with the new Hill Apartments (work expected to continue into July).
- Lane Closure: Eastbound right lane is closed. Traffic is temporarily shifted to the center lane.
- Bike Lane Closure: Eastbound bike lane is closed; motorists and bicyclists are asked to share the road.
- Pedestrian Access: Sidewalk closures are posted; pedestrians should follow signage and avoid the work zone.
