New Mexico State Police Assist In Apprehension Of Murder Suspect Wanted In Colorado

SANTA FE – On July 20, 2024, law enforcement officers from the County of Boulder, Colo., requested the assistance of the New Mexico State Police (NMSP) in apprehending a murder suspect.

Frank Perez, 30, who was involved in a fatal incident in Colorado, had an active warrant for murder among other felony crimes. Perez boarded a Greyhound bus and was traveling towards the Mexico border in Texas.

State Police officers from Santa Rosa were able to locate the bus and discreetly followed it until it made a pit stop. Utilizing their training and coordination with Colorado authorities, NMSP officers successfully apprehended Perez without incident. Perez was then transported to the DeBaca County Detention Center.

In addition to the arrest, NMSP officers assisted Colorado authorities by seizing evidence from Perez which may aid in their ongoing investigation.
