LAPD News:

The Los Alamos Police Department (LAPD) would like to inform the public about catalytic converter thefts. In recent weeks the department has responded to about a half-dozen reports of catalytic converters being stolen from vehicles. North Mesa and Barranca Mesa neighborhoods have been targeted recently.

It has been a while since the community has experienced catalytic converter thefts at this rate.

LAPD would like to remind the community to remain vigilant of any suspicious activity or people in the area.  Anyone who notices someone who appears to be suspicious, is asked to call LAPS’s non-emergency dispatch line at 505.662.8222. “Please provide dispatch with an accurate description of the person/people and or activity, but do not place yourself in harm’s way.”

The department will continue to utilize patrol operations and the technology at its disposal to help solve these crimes.
