PEEC News:
The Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) has announced the launch of its newest walking group, “Happy Ramblers”. This weekly program invites nature enthusiasts to join a relaxed, observational walk, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. every Thursday at the Los Alamos Nature Center.
Participants will carpool to a nearby trailhead and embark on a relaxing walk focused on immersing themselves in the natural surroundings. With an emphasis on experience over exercise, the group will cover no more than two miles round trip, moving at a comfortable pace and taking time to explore and appreciate the environment.
Happy Ramblers is designed to foster a deep connection with nature, encouraging participants to observe and share their discoveries. As an interactive experience, the group’s observations will guide the walk’s direction, making each outing unique.
Participants are advised to bring water, a snack and wear appropriate footwear and layered clothing for the weather. The program is free, but advance registration is encouraged. Please note that walks may be canceled in case of inclement weather.
